Acid scarlet 3R CI acid red 18 is a kind of acid red dyes. It has red powder appearance and soluble in wataer and become red solution with yellowish shade.

It is soluble in alcohol and fibrinolysin, insoluble in acetone, insoluble in other organic solvents.

Acid scarlet 3r properties and stability
1. Stable under normal temperature and pressure. Adding concentrated hydrochloric acid to its aqueous solution produces dark red brown precipitates;Adding concentrated radon and sodium oxide, it will produce dark brown precipitation. The maximum absorption wavelength is 510nm.

2. When it is diluted with concentrated sulfuric acid, it will turn red purple and form reddish brown precipitate.

When it is blue with concentrated nitric acid, it will turn olive to orange. The dark reddish brown precipitate is generated by adding concentrated hydrochloric acid to the aqueous solution, and the dark brown precipitate is generated by adding sodium hydroxide solution. The color is dark when copper and iron ions are encountered during dyeing.

Function and use

Acid scarlet 3r is used for dyeing wool fabrics and also for dyeing paper and leather. It can also be used for coloring plastics, wood, spices, medicine, electrochemical aluminum and cement.

And it can also be used to manufacture ink. Its heavy metal salt can be used as pigment.
