Solvent yellow 14 also named Sudan I CAS 842-07-9 is a kind of yellow powder with Melting point 134 ℃. It is insoluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol, easily soluble in fats and mineral oils, soluble in acetone and benzene.

Due to its advantage of bright color and high dyeing ability, it’s widely used for dyeing candles, leather shoe polish, floor wax, grease, fireworks and transparent paint.
