Iron oxide pigments have excellent light resistance, insolubility, and other characteristics. Generally speaking, iron oxide pigment powder do not deteriorate or fade over time. Iron oxide pigments are often used to color concrete and cement products. So how do we use iron oxide pigments and cement?
Below are the general steps for using iron oxide pigments with cement:
1.Color selection:
Iron oxide pigments include red, yellow, brown, and black, etc.
You can choose the appropriate pigment according to your desired color.
2.Prepare cement mixture:
usually including cement, sand, and water, to ensure that the texture of the mixture is uniform, so that the pigment can be evenly distributed throughout the entire mixture.
3.Adding pigment:
Gradually add the selected iron oxide pigment to the cement mixture.
At the beginning, only add a small amount of pigment, then slowly increase to achieve the desired color, and stir the mixture to ensure that the pigment is evenly dispersed throughout the entire mixture.
4.Color adjustment:
You can adjust the color by adding more pigments, and the concentration of pigments will directly affect the final color depth.
5.Uniform mixing:
Ensure that the pigment is completely mixed evenly without any obvious color spots or mottled spots.
6.Waiting and drying: Drying colored cement usually takes a period of time, depending on temperature and humidity. During this period, avoid contact with any objects or water to avoid damaging the surface.
Notes:
Iron oxide pigments can provide a wide range of color choices for cement and concrete, but careful handling is required during use, controlling the amount of pigments and mixing them evenly to achieve the desired color effect without affecting the performance of cement.
