The acid nigrosine black is a solid crystal acid black dyes, which is easily soluble in water and is blue-violet.

Nigrosine black is mainly used for the dyeing of wool and silk, but also for leather dyeing (usually by chrome mordant), as well as for the coloring of paper, wood products, soap, anodized aluminum and the manufacture of inks.
