Methyl violet 5bn (basic violet 5bn) is a dark green shiny uniform powder or green crystals.
It is dissolved in cold water and hot water (purple solution) and soluble in alcohol u purple.
It is light yellow in case of concentrated sulfuric acid, dark green light yellow after dilution, and then turns into blue and purple.
The aqueous solution is purple precipitated when it meets sodium hydroxide.
Methyl violet 5BN CI Basic violet 3 usage:
As one kind of basic dyes, methyl violet 5BN is suitable for water based printing ink, nylon, hemp, paper, leather, grass and wood.
It can also be used for making paint, printing pad oil, and color pencil.In the pharmaceutical industry, it is used to make gentian violet (purple potion).
