Pigments are colored substances that are insoluble in water. They are actually a finely ground and well-dispersed colored filler.

They have no affinity with fibers and are colored by paper. The extent depends on the particle size of the pigment and its dispersion on the paper. The main advantage of pigments is strong light resistance, but the coloring effect is not as good as dyes. Large-scale use will reduce the strength of paper, so it is mainly used for colored coated paper.

Paper Dyes are organic compounds that can make other substances obtain bright and fast color. It can enter the fiber and make the fiber dyed.

Generally, dyes are mostly used in the production and toning of colored paper.
